This policy explains what the Feather Roll app (“Feather Roll”, “the app”) does with information about you. Feather Roll is published by Nikmesoft Company, Ltd. (“Nikmesoft”, “we”). Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- Your photos never leave your device. Feather Roll looks at them on your iPhone only; it uploads no photo and no location anywhere.
- We don't collect your personal data: the app has no account, analytics, ads, tracking or third-party SDKs, never uploads your photos, and the only request it makes to us adds no account ID, device identifier, photo, location or usage data (see Update check). On the App Store its privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
- Purchases of Feather Roll Plus are handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Your photos
To help you go through your photo library, Feather Roll reads your photos with Apple's Photos framework and analyses them on your device with Apple's Vision framework. This processing happens entirely on your iPhone. The app does not upload, copy or send your photos, their contents or their metadata to us or to anyone else.
When you delete photos in the app, iOS asks you to confirm and moves them to the Recently Deleted album of the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days.
You can change or remove the app's access to your photos at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
Places
To show where a photo was taken, the app reads the photo's location on your device and looks up the nearest city in a list of place names bundled in the app. No location is sent anywhere for this. The place names come from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. If you turn them on, they are scheduled by the app on your device; they are not sent from our servers. You can turn them off in the app or in Settings → Notifications.
Purchases
Feather Roll Plus, as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, is sold and charged by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app what you have bought; the app does not receive your name, email address or payment details, and it sends no purchase information to us.
Update check
When you open the app or return to it while online, it downloads a small configuration file from our website, https://nikmesoft.com/app-config/v1/com.nikmesoft.lighterroll.json, to find out whether a newer version is available or needed. The app adds no account ID, device identifier, photo, location or usage data to this request. Like any web request, it carries normal network information, including your IP address, which our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives.
Only when that file says an update is needed, the app also asks Apple's iTunes Lookup service (itunes.apple.com) which version is current on the App Store.
Children
We don't collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If a future version of the app changes what is described here, we will update this policy and the date above before that version is released.
