How to play

Pass the phone around. Each player holds to see their picture in secret. Everyone has the same picture, except one player who has a nearly identical one. Nobody knows who, not even that player. Take turns saying one word about your picture, without naming it. Then everyone points at the player they think has the different picture.

3 to 12 players, one phone, no internet needed. It's all pictures, so kids who can't read yet can play too. A round takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Questions

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

No. Nearly Same works offline and has no account or sign-in. Everyone plays on the same phone, passed from player to player.

A pair looks wrong or unfair

Tap Report this pair in the game. It opens your mail app with a message that contains only the pair's number and the app version; add a few words if you like and send it. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

Are there ads or purchases?

There are no ads. One optional purchase unlocks more picture packs; it is processed by Apple and we never receive your payment details.

I bought the picture packs but they are locked

Tap Restore Purchases in the app, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought them with. This also unlocks them on your other devices, or after reinstalling the app. Restoring is free.

What does the app collect about me?
