Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This policy explains what the File Opener & Extractor: ZIP app for iPhone and iPad (“Zip Extractor”, “the app”) does with your information. The app is published by Nikmesoft Company, Ltd. (“Nikmesoft”, “we”). Questions: [email protected].
The short version (version 1.2 and later)
- Your archives and files are opened, extracted and compressed on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The app does not connect to our servers.
- Purchases are handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Version 1.1 and earlier worked differently: see Earlier versions below. You can see your version in the App Store or in the app's Settings.
Your files
Files you import, extract or create are stored in the app's own storage on your device, or in the location you choose in the Files app (for example iCloud Drive, which is then covered by Apple's terms). Deleting the app deletes the files in its own storage. Copies may remain in device backups (iCloud or computer) made by you or your device.
Information sent to us
None. Zip Extractor 1.2 contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not ask for permission to track you.
Diagnostic reports. iOS can give the app anonymous reports about crashes and freezes (Apple MetricKit). The app keeps the most recent few on your device. A report leaves your device only if you send us a feedback email from the app's Settings: the email then contains your device model and app version and, when sent with Apple's Mail app, the latest report as an attachment. You see the email before you send it and can edit it or remove the attachment. We use this information only to answer you and fix bugs.
Purchases
Premium (weekly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold by Apple. The app checks your purchase on your device with Apple's StoreKit and remembers it in the iOS Keychain so it works offline. We do not receive your name, Apple ID or payment details.
Permissions
- Photos — to pick photos and videos you want to compress into an archive.
- Camera — to take a photo or video, or scan a document, and add it to an archive.
- Notifications — for occasional reminders on your device if you allow them. They are scheduled locally; no notification data is sent to us.
Sharing
When you share or “Open in” a file, it goes only to the app or service you choose with the iOS share sheet, under that app's own privacy policy.
Earlier versions (1.1 and earlier)
Versions up to 1.1.x, released before October 2026, also included:
- Google AdMob (Google LLC) to show ads to users without premium. Google may collect device information such as your IP address, device model and, where permitted, the advertising identifier, to show and measure ads. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
- Purchase check on our server. To check a subscription, the app sent the App Store receipt (product, purchase dates and transaction identifiers; no name or payment details) to a Nikmesoft server.
The content of your files was never sent anywhere by any version. Updating to version 1.2 removes all of the above.
Children
Zip Extractor is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can delete any file in the app at any time, or delete the app to remove everything in its storage. Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete, but you are welcome to contact us with any question.
Changes
We will update this page when the app's handling of information changes, and change the date at the top.
