What your child can do

Coloring a star lantern with glitter, star-pattern and neon colors

Glitter, neon and crayon colors

More than 70 colors: classic shades, sparkling glitter, glowing neon, star and heart patterns, moving rainbows and crayon. A tap fills a whole area, so little fingers get neat results, with a playful sound for every kind of color.

A finished picture that moves

Pictures that come to life

Confetti celebrates every finished picture, and 18 pictures come to life: a dolphin with a ball, a dancing lion, a blinking owl, a helicopter, birthday candles that flicker.

The drawing studio with brushes and stickers

A drawing studio and stickers

Nine brushes, from pencil and crayon to spray, glitter, neon, rainbow and stamps. Kids can trace over a faded picture, then watch their drawing replay like a movie, and decorate any picture with stickers they can drag, resize and turn.

The Dinosaurs theme: T-rex, Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus, Triceratops, Pterodactyl and a baby dino

80 pictures in 8 themes

Animals, Nature, Vietnam, Dinosaurs, Under the sea, Space, Vehicles and Yummy food — from a T-rex to star lanterns and a lion dance. A new Picture of the day suggests something to color every day.

My artworks: an apricot blossom, a rocket, a butterfly, a T-rex, a fish and a star lantern, all colored

Plays offline. No tracking SDKs.

No internet needed, so it is ready in the car or on a plane. Artwork is saved automatically on the device, and a simple mode with 8 big colors and fewer buttons suits the youngest artists.

For parents

Lantern is made for the App Store's Kids category, in the 6–8 age band, and follows Apple's rules for kids apps. Simple mode makes it easy for younger children too.

  • No ads and no in-app purchases — the app is free, with nothing to buy.
  • No data collected: no accounts, no analytics, no third-party tracking SDKs. Pictures are saved on the device and never sent to us. If a grown-up shares one, it goes only to the app they choose.
  • Works without the internet. On Android the app doesn't even have permission to go online.
  • Sharing a picture and the grown-up settings are behind a parental gate; deleting a drawing always asks first.
  • In English and Vietnamese.
