Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This policy explains what the Lantern: Kids Coloring Book app for iPhone, iPad and Android (“Lantern”, “the app”) does with information. The app is made for young children and published by Nikmesoft Company, Ltd. (“Nikmesoft”, “we”). Questions from parents: [email protected].
The short version
- We do not collect any information from your child or from you. Nothing is sent to us.
- The app works without an internet connection, and on Android it does not even have permission to use the internet.
- There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts and no in-app purchases.
What stays on the device
The pictures your child colors, their free drawings, the stickers they place and the app's settings (sound, language, colors) are saved only on the device, inside the app's own storage. We cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes them from the device. Copies may remain in backups of the device that you or your device made (for example iCloud, Google or computer backups), which are kept under your backup provider's terms and may bring the data back if you restore from them.
Sharing a picture
A grown-up can share a picture from “My artworks”, from the coloring screen, or with the “Show it off!” button after a picture is finished. Sharing is always behind a parental gate (a multiplication question). The app then turns the picture into an image file (on iPhone and iPad, a finished moving picture becomes a short looping animation, a GIF) and opens the device's standard share sheet; you choose where it goes — for example Photos, Messages or Mail. The image goes only to the app you choose, never to us, and what that app does with it is covered by its own privacy policy. The temporary image file stays in the app's cache on the device.
Voice search (iPhone and iPad)
Voice search is optional. The first time your child taps the microphone button, a grown-up passes the parental gate and then the device asks for permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. When your child taps the microphone and names a picture, the speech is recognized on the device only (the app tells the device not to use the network for it) just to open that picture. We do not record, store or send the audio or the recognized words, and the app never asks a child’s name by voice. If the device can’t recognize speech without the network, the microphone button is not shown. You can turn the permission off at any time in the device’s Settings; the app works fully by touch.
Information sent to us
None. The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID), and does not ask for access to the camera, photos, contacts or location. The microphone is used only for voice search, as described above.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no personal information, we do not collect, use or disclose personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or under the age set by local law (GDPR). Areas meant for grown-ups — sharing and the parent settings — are behind a parental gate. The app has no links to websites, no purchases and no requests to rate it.
Your choices
You can delete a single drawing in the app (it asks for confirmation first) or remove everything from the device by uninstalling the app (see above about device backups). As we hold no data about you or your child, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete; you are still welcome to contact us with any question.
Changes
If a future version of the app changes what is described here, we will update this policy and the date above before that version is released.
